All-in-One Urban Mobility Mapping iOS Application – August 2017
Project Summary: The All-in-One (AIO) urban mobility mobile application is an iOS application using computer vision, vehicle-to-infrastructure communication, and open-source software (OpenCV, YOLO, and Google Firebase) to help give users a more holistic view of the environment around them by detecting and mapping the location of nearby pedestrians, vehicles, and cyclists by means of GPS-enabled devices and infrastructure cameras utilizing an object detection algorithm. (Python Language)

My Positions within the Project: Team Lead/Manager, Assistant Developer, Graphic Designer, and Publication Lead Author
- Collaborated with 3 undergraduate students to create an All-in-One (AIO) urban mobility mobile application on iOS using computer vision, vehicle-to-infrastructure communication, and open-source software (OpenCV, YOLO, and Google Firebase).
- Participated in individual and group interviews to receive feedback regarding the research projects and their impact on the individual and the community.
- Presented research at high schools for student outreach, community conferences, and national research conferences.

See-Though Technology Application – 2016
Project Summary: We explore computer vision (e.g., object detection) and Vehicle-to-Anything (V2X) communication, which includes Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) communication, to present an experiment about see-through technology which can assist the vehicle to have a real-time augmented view of traffic scene that in reality may be blocked by the vehicle in front.

mStroke iOS Application – 2016
Project Summary: mStroke is a real-time quantitative assessment of stroke rehabilitation using wireless sensors. mStroke system will evaluate the recovery of post-stroke patients after they leave the hospital, and will provide trustworthy customized activity analysis and statistical interpretation to support health care providers in delivering improved health services beyond usual stroke care. mStroke monitors and evaluates motor control, fall risk, and gait speed of patients post-stroke using wearable Bluetooth Low-Energy (BLE) devices.
My Position and Responsibilities within the Project: UI / UX Designer
- Created a UI Design and UX experience the iOS application that was designed to be easily readable and useable by elderly, post-stroke recovery patients.
- Design focused on using simple, large text and buttons, warm colors (based on research in relation to color and the elderly), and images portraying the associated rehabilitation exercise to help with usability by elderly patients.
- Updated interface based on weekly to monthly feedback from real post-stroke patients at a local rehabilitation center.
